"How The Three-Fifths Compromise of 1787, The Electoral College & Slavery Empowered Southern States" by Michael Imhotep Recorded 7-14-17

In this presentation, Michael Imhotep founder of The African History Network and host of The African History Network Show, deals with the real history behind the Three Fifths Compromise of 1787 in the U.S. Constitution and the creation of the Electoral College. These 2 policies gave Power to Southern States and encouraged them to maintain Slavery.  Contrary to popular belief, The U.S. Constitution did not say that African Americans or Slaves were Three Fifths of a Human Being.  This is a total misunderstanding of what the policy stated.

The Electoral College is very important as we saw with the 2016 Election Cycle where Hillary Clinton won 3 million more popular votes than Donald Trump but he got more Electoral College votes.  Even though many people think that the popular vote does not this is however is not true.  All you have to do is look at the rampant Voter Suppression that took place during the 2016 Election Cycle and you will that the if the Popular Vote didn't matter Republicans would not have worked so hard to suppress the vote.

Michael Imhotep founder of The African History Network deals with the Donald Trump Regime and how he is reversing policies from President Barack Obama that were beneficial to African Americans.  Voter Suppression was rampant in the 2016 Election Cycle largely due to Section 5 of the Voters Right Act of 1965 being gutted because of the 2013 Supreme Court Decision of Shelby County vs. Holder.  Did you know that there were 868 fewer polling places to vote at in 2016 or that 13 new States had Voter ID Laws?  There are parallels between the circumstances behind Richard Nixon being elected President as well as Trump.  Michael Imhotep connects the dots and also deals with Reparations and how Elections Have Consequences.  The presentation was Recorded on May 25th, 2017 at the African Liberation Day Celebration in Detroit, MI.
